About

Computational decision-making is an emerging research field that aims to build new methods for efficient decision making using advanced computation tools. Similarly, data science is becoming one of the most important research fields covering the areas of machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, visualization, data engineering and other disciplines. In recent years data science methods were successfully applied to a large range of areas including health, biology, climate, marketing, etc.

The workshop aims to address challenges in the areas of computational decision-making and data science and to facilitate interaction between academia, industry and funding agencies.
This year, the workshop will be organized around four topics:

1. Data science and smart society

2. Computational methods for public policies

3. Computational challenges in data science

4. Data science in medicine

The general areas that the workshop include:

  • Social computing
  • Collective decision making
  • Collaborative problem solving
  • Complex networks
  • Crowdsourced governing
  • Causal modeling
  • Computational challenges with large and complex datasets
