H21 – Human for 21. Century

Abstract

Czech mathematician and visionary founded the project Democracy 21, using an algorithm to deal with justice and fairness. In his speech he highlighted modern communication technologies and the concept of game to have a more fair and just society.

About the lecturer

Mgr. Karel Janeček, MBA, PhD. educated in the Czech Republic and in the United States founded a company RSJ, which has become the biggest market makers in derivatives exchanges worldwide. He currently devotes his time to promoting accountable government through citizen action and electoral reform called Democracy 21 (D21) and further intensly supports for scientific research and anti-corruption. D21 can be used not only in politics but for any situation where people make decisions out of more options – for example in participatory budgeting, where community members directly decide how to spend part of a public budget. D21 is beeing used in China, Tunisia and Portugal, as well as over 30 neighborhoods in New York City. Dozens of Czech towns use multiple voting  schemes of D21.
