EU Jobs and Skills Explorer: first hand demo of winning project from 1st EU Big Data Hackathon by IN2 scientists

Abstract

Our team of data scientists comprising of experts from the IT company IN2data and the Algebra University College won the first place at the first European Big Data Hackathon – a competition organized by Eurostat and the European Commission. In just two days we have developed a fully functional web application that relies on results of statistical surveys and publicly available data to provide insights into characteristics of the labor market. The talk will walk you through our solution named “EU Skills & Jobs Explorer” consisting of 12 visual, interactive dashboards enabling the policy analyst to gain insight into 4 key areas: skill supply, skill demand, skill gap and policy actions to close the gap.
